Aren't these Basic Grey papers so fun! There will be TWO winners chosen for this contest. :) One prize is a Lemonade 6x6 paper pad and coordinating Pops (the coolest dimensional stickers I've ever seen), and another prize is a June Bug 6x6 paper pad and a package of coordinating Take Note (gorgeous, full color transparencies and matching journaling die-cuts).

Scrapbook Circle June Kit creations!!!

I had a chance to PLAY with the June Kit from Scrapbook Circle in the last few days...let's just say that this kit is so much fun! Lots of bright colors and fun embellies!!!

First up, is a card that I created for the challenge this week over at Fun Frilled. I had to use 4 eyelets...yes, eyelets! You know, those things that we all collected and now NEVER use! Plus, this card is perfect for Cards for Heroes, so if you don't know what this wonderful organization is all about, you must go check it out!

The yellow Bazzill cardstock is from the May kit from Scrapbook Circle; from the June kit from Scrapbook Circle is the patterned paper strip of Fancy Pants Summer Soiree Strips and the super fun Bazzill Edges in Lime! From my stash: the "family" of chipboard trees that I have been hoarding...he, he, he (am I the only one that does this???) Stampin' Up eyelets added to the trees, string tied around the tree trunks, stamp sentiment and the sun I created from a flower stamp by Martha Stewart. I also straight stitched & zig zag machine stitched (I just HAVE to on everything I create lately!!!) and inked the edge of the yellow Bazzill cardstock using Stampin' Up ink.

Next is a layout inspired by 52Sketches52Weeks sketch #21. I love to create collages & since the sketch used a large square photo, I decided to create 2 different 4 x 6 collage photos, and then I cut a strip from one to create the large square. These photos are all from our big family vacation last summer to San Diego...made lots of fun (& some not so fun-just ask my DH about the nasty blisters he got on the first day) memories!

Lots of great patterned papers used from the June Kit at Scrapbook Circle! Fancy Pants Summer Soiree-Beach House, Cards, Strips & Wave! Again, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to use the Bazzill Edges in Lime :0) Jenni Bowlin Studio Old School Alpha Minis from the June kit too! From my stash: Heidi Swapp "destination" stamp, Buttons by Favorite Findings, Martha Stewart black journaling pen, date stamp, Stampin' Up Chocolate Chip ink & zig zag machine stitching.

Thanks for stopping by! Take care!

So glad you are playing along...if you are visiting my blog and didn't start at the beginning of the hop, please go to Cards for Heroes to start at the TOP of the hop!!! There are goodies up for grabs along the way, so you don't want to miss any of the blogs!

So here's the card that I would like to share with you today...I chose to stick with the patriotic theme of red, white & blue and even threw some stars in! The card I created is a Thank You card:

Supplies used include white card base, PP by The Paper Studio, Fiskars Threading Water border punch (love this punch!), flowers/brad unknown, Thank you stamp by Stampin' Up, tags by Stampin' Up, VersaMagic ink-Night Sky and machine stitching.

I am new to Cards for Heroes, but love the idea of it! My father served in the Army, one of my brothers served in the Army and is actually going through the process of re-enlisting, and two of my nephews have served in the fight against terrorism, Chad in the Army and Jay in the Navy. Jay is currently on deployment (miss you Jay, stay safe!!!) I am so very proud of each of them, as well as all of our military as they sacrifice for us! This is just a small & simple gesture of my thanks! I plan to continue making cards and love the idea of AnyHero cards/letters. Won't you help? Plus you get to play with your scrappy supplies AND it's for a good cause! Gotta love that!

And now I get to send you on to your next stop along the hop:

{who will you be}

Just sharing another layout that I created using the May kit from Scrapbook Circle! In order to get the MOST out of the kit, I was careful about trying to keep the 12x12 papers as whole as possible...so when I wanted to use a piece of the Fancy Pants Delight Spice, I cut the piece from the middle of the paper which allowed me to use the paper later as a base for today's layout! Way to think ahead, huh???

The inspiration for this layout came from the picture I chose...my youngest, Joel, was taking a break from mowing and he appeared to just be "thinking" on that old tree stump. Well, that made me start to thinking & wondering...wondering about who he would eventually become? what he would do with his life? I realize that this may seem a bit DEEP, but he is 14 and in just 4 short years he will be heading out into this CRAZY world...plus he just graduated from junior high, so mom has been a bit emotional lately :0)

My DH even commented on this layout, saying "Jeez, you are gonna make me cry..." well, I guess that is what I was going for!

So here's: WHO WILL YOU BE

This layout went together so easily...like I didn't even have to try! I used bits & pieces of pp from the kit and even the patterned strip at the bottom of the Pebbles Inc paper...now that is so cool...like there is no waste! Love that!

My favorite part of this layout, other than the photo? That adorable Sassafrass Perchers Feltie! & the scallop circle behind him? Well, that is the packaging from Sassafrass...I just ran it thru my Cuttlebug! Love to re-cycle!!!

Here's what I used from the May kit from Scrapbook Circle:

PP-Fancy Pants Delight Spice, Cards & Strips

PP-American Crafts Craft Fair

Pebbles Inc Patchwork

Rubons-Fancy Pants Delight

Sassafrass Perchers Felties

& from my stash: Label Buddy, date stamp & Stampin' Up ink, sand paper & machine stitching

Well, that's it for now...thanks for stopping by! Take care!

PROJECT 365 *photo update* & a proud moment...

Anyone out there following my Project 365??? This is for you...just thought I'd let you know that I have uploaded my April 2009 Project 365 photos to my slide show (see the right hand column of my blog) I must admit that I absolutely love this project and am thrilled with the whole process...& I have ONLY missed a few days of picture taking...but I'm not stressing over that! I am behind in actually putting the album together, but when I get a chance, it will only take a few hours to catch back up. So it's all good!

& for my proud moment...my youngest graduated from 8th grade last night. He was honored as a valedictorian and I couldn't be prouder of him & all of his hard work! I'm just having a hard time believing that my baby will be in high school come next August....okay, we won't talk about that anymore right now!!!

That's it for now...I have so many things on my list of things to do...a bit overwhelming!!! So better go get busy!!!

Take care! See you later!!!

Just a little something...

Just a quick share tonight...I decided to be creative and make something for each of the boys in Joel's 8th grade class. Plus, this project was fairly inexpensive and who doesn't like chocolate???

Here are the supplies that I gathered up:

I purchased Hershey chocolate bars for $1 each...quite the bargain, huh??? I decided to use royal blue cardstock for the wrapper because black & royal blue are the class colors.

First, trim the 12x12 cardstock down to 6 3/4 inches wide by 8 1/2 inches long.

Then cut the patterned paper into 3 inch strips by 8 1/2 inches long. Next, wrap the candy bar with both the cardstock and then the patterned paper.

Next, I used the circle scallop Nestabilities with my Cuttlebug and cut out a shape that measures just under 3 inches across.

Using my Creative Memories cutting system, I cut small patterned paper circles for the center of the scallop shape.

A stamped "congratulations" sentiment and personalization using the Label Buddy completes this fun & yummy gift!

More to share tomorrow...take care!!!

Another layout using the May Kit from Scrapbook Circle

The May Kit from Scrapbook Circle has been amazing to work with...and I have created LOTS with it! The last pieces of the June kit are in the mail to me, so can't wait to start playing with it! If you are thinking about purchasing a monthly kit...do it quick...only 5 more June kits left as of yesterday!

So the layout that I am sharing was inspired by the May sketch challenge at Scrapjazz:

I love that this sketch has so many photos, so I decided to create a collage featuring photos from Easter Sunday, which was also my youngest son's 14th birthday. It was a fun day full of lots of food and family! This layout will be placed in my 2009 Project 365 album, so additional journaling will be done with the 365 journaling cards.

Here's my layout "A day to Remember":

Scrappy goodies used from the May Kit from Scrapbook Circle:

Bazzill cardstock-Bitter Chocolate
Patterned Paper-American Crafts Craft Fair (both sides) and Fancy Pants Delight cards (I cut out the journaling strips from one of the cards)
Jillibean Soup Alphabeans-Bean brown
Fancy Pants Delight Rubons

& from my stash: K & Company alpha stickers, date stamp, Stampin' Up ink, Favorite Findings buttons, embroidery thread, zig zag machine stitching, Fiskars Threading Water border punch and Creative Memories journaling pen

Thanks for looking! It is past my bedtime, so I'm calling it a night...so happy that the weekend is almost here!

Take care!

Is this thing working???

Grrrr....nothing more frustrating than when the fantabulous pieces of technology that we have come to love decide to just quit working! Hopefully, my email/internet will be fixed tonight...then maybe I can share the layout that I created this past Sunday...cross your fingers (& toes might not be a bad idea either...)

Take care!

Stuff to share...

I'm still in recovery mode from the weekend...it was Jeremy's high school prom and somehow, someway...well, it's because there is not a bone in my body that knows how to utter the word NO!!! I got suckered into helping with the After Prom Party this year (and that my friends, means that I will continue to help with the After Prom Party until 2013)

So the first bit of stuff to share are a few prom pics...I am in total denial that my oldest is 16 years of age and getting more grown up by the minute! Seriously, can this be happening??? Here he is with his date....she, by the way, loves the camera and the camera loves her! She doesn't take a bad photo...EVER!!!

Picking his date up:

At the promenade:

Jeremy & little brother, Joel: (no way will Joel be old enough next year to be going to the prom!?!)

Tons more great photos, but just thought I'd share a few with you!

How about something scrappy? I quick put a card together tonight using bits & pieces of patterned paper & rick rack from the Scrapbook Circle May kit. The inspiration for this card came from an email from Scrapbooks, Etc. The challenge this week at FunFrilled is to create a Mother's Day card:

Here's a closeup of the Jenni Bowlin rick rack threaded thru the buttons:

Thanks for looking! Take care!

Scrapbook Circle May Kit....

The May Kit "Simply Delightful" from Scrapbook Circle arrived @ the post office last Monday...& I could hardly stand it until I was able to create with it! The kit is sold out, but new subscriptions will receive the June kit (it's gonna be AMAZING!!!) and I understand there are extra kits for June, so if you want one... ;0)

I have had so much fun with the kit so far...& I'm still creating!!! So first up is a fun layout inspired by Sketch #17 @ 52sketches52weeks. My nephew was so cute on Easter and he really is just a goof!

Here's "silly goose":

& a close up of the title...these Jillibean Soup alphas are such a cute font! and the Fancy Pants Rubons are super easy to apply!

This fun spiral journaling paper included in the kit is so cute! & I left the fringe on to add some dimension to my page...so fun! and the Fancy Pants Delight cards are adorable!!!

Next up is a layout I created using Pink Sketch #29. I have wanted to do a layout featuring each of my kiddos and the things that were unique to them @ their current age...so got one done for Jeremy...isn't he a handsome dude!!! I also recently downloaded the free Picaso 3 photo editing software...& it was really fun to play with! I did a b & w treatment on the photo and added text directly to the photo for the title.

Here's "16 things about you":

This layout has a ton of patterned papers: Fancy Pants Delight Bubbles is the background & is so cool in real life! It has journaling lines, so was perfect for this project! Also, I used pieces of Fancy Pants Delight Spice & Delight Strips, American Crafts Craft Fair and Pebbles Inc Skipping Along Collection Carefree (one of my faves). The Fancy Pants Delight Rubons that I added to this really give it a funky teenager vibe...I think!?! LOL!!!

My 3rd project created with the kit is {main street} and I really like how it turned out. I took these photos in our home town and LOVE the water tower photo...then I created a collage of other spots on main street with b & w photos...then cut the collage into strips.

I used some fabulous scrappy goodies on {main street}...Fancy Pants Delight Thoughtful is the background pp...& it is just beautiful!!! I also used Fancy Pants Delight cards & Delight strips and the cut out scroll is from Pebbles Inc Patchwork. The buttons & journaling spot are Jenni Bowlin. My DH really liked this layout...thinks I should email the water tower photo to our city clerk to see if they would like to use it on the city website...that would be cool, huh???

Finally, I created this card for the challenge @ FunFrilled. The challenge this week was to create a 30 minute "Rachel Ray" card. I was inspired by the wonderful Mother's Day card examples in a recent email from Scrapbooks, etc.

Everything is from the Scrapbook Circle May Kit, except for the card base, Stampin' Up sentiment stamp and the Paper Studio Spare Parts silk flower brads...I have been saving those for something special ;0) Did lots of zig zag machine stitching and of course, used my Fiskars Threading Water border punch!

Okay, I think after this long post, I am exhausted...or could it be because I was up until nearly 5AM hanging out with a bunch of high school kiddos at the After Prom Party 2009??? Gotta share some cool pics with ya...soon, very soon!!!

Take care & thanks for stopping by!
