Yippee! I got to complete a challenge :o)

I have missed doing challenges...time just hasn't been on my side lately! As soon as school fired back up, all of my FREE scrappy time got sucked up by lots of other stuff!!! But every once in a while, I find a little piece of time & sneak over to my little scrappy place...my happy place :o)

I saw the sketch @ 2 Sketches 4 You earlier this week & thought it would be fun to try! I also wanted to make a card for my sister-in-law's sister, Julie, who is currently battling cancer. Thought it would help keep her spirits high to know that others are sending warm thoughts her way :o)

Laura's Sketch #36:

Here's my card:

what a C-R-A-Z-Y week!!!

Yep! I'm here.....I know.....it's amazing.....you all thought I'd had dropped of the face of the earth, right???!!!??? Not so. Just.got.busy. Like CRAZY busy! So here is a quick recap of the past week....

Monday: Work. But not just a normal day of work for me. Drove 2 hours to Hays, KS to train our peeps on COMPLIANCE. Sounds absolutely fantastic, doesn't it??? Specifically "Red Flags" compliance & training....thanks to the government for making it almost impossible to sell an automobile these days :o)

Drove back home Monday afternoon; got home just in time to head to the Powder Puff 2009 flag football game between the Fowler Goldbugs high school football team & the cheerleaders...what a great time we had! & the watermelon afterwards was to DIE for :o)

Tuesday: Work. Again. But this time training on COMPLIANCE @ our dealership in Dodge City, KS. Again, so much FUN. Not. Nothing extra going on this evening....

Wednesday: Woke up between 2 -3 AM with a feeling that the bedroom was spinning. THIS.IS.NOT.GOOD. at all. I didn't want to wake up DH, but seriously thought I might be loosing it. Fought the waves of nausea...finally it was 6 AM when DH got up & I told him I really wasn't feeling too great...I ended up staying @ home from work; felt just okay most of the day, then decided to lay down for a late day nap...round 2 of the spinning room thing...I finally did vomit (felt a TON better) & then slept the rest of the night.

Thursday: Took it easy this morning. Finally decided to go to work. My head just completely felt disconnected. Called the doctor. Explained the vertigo (spinning sensations). Got a prescription for a motion sickness drug. Within an hour of taking the first dose, I was feeling almost back to my old self. Apparently, the vertigo is caused by an inner ear imbalance. I have taken the medication off & on over the past few days as needed...don't know how long this will last....

Friday: Football homecoming. Love this time of year. But SO busy! Here are a few photos:

Locker signs made by me :0) The jeans pocket was the new addition for this week. My original creation was much "cuter", but the boys said it was too girlie...it included ribbons & a foam football...they got their way this time....I tucked a football shaped brownie into the pocket :0)

Lost the game, but still proud of my boys!!! Go Big GOLD!!!

Saturday: Slept in....felt so good. Woke up kinda grumpy though??? Got some stuff done around the house, then settled in for some scrappin'. Headed to mass @ 5:30. Before mass, I suggested that we go out to the bar for supper. DH thought that sounded good, since we hadn't went out for supper in forever...

We pulled up to the bar; looks very busy. My DH says "looks like we should have called ahead." Well, this makes me MAD each & every time he says that because I'm thinking: what else do we have to do tonight??? Anyway, we head for the door. As we come around the corner of the building, I see there are even more cars there. I say: "Looks like someone is having a party...& we weren't invited".....I open the door.....&.......SURPRISE!!!!!!! Holy Cow!!!! They got me good!!!! I had no idea!!!! Didn't even suspect it at all....

So it was a surprise party for my upcoming 40th birthday....which is actually Oct. 6th. Had a great time...enjoyed the fun, the food, the cards, the gifts, the cake, the family, the friends, the laughter, the beer, the almond tequila....whoa....don't drink too much of that stuff :o)

Me with the notorious "Milford 40 Year Old" coffin...it has gotten passed down through quite a few of us :o)

My nephew in the official party hat :o)

& a quick photo of my gifts...& the bottle of almond tequila...thanks, Cathy! Guess who the OLD BAG bag came from...none other than my own mom! So mean! But she made me the cutest mini album...will share that soon :o)

Sunday: A day of rest. Got to do a little creating....played with the Halloween Kit from Scrapbook Circle...lots of FUN!!!

Here's the card I created using the kit & a few of my own supplies!

my first attempt @ embossing...I think I'm hooked :o)))

Head on over to Scrapbook Circle to grab yourself this kit! Lisa did a great job with this special edition kit! Hopefully, I will be posting my layouts/projects created using the October kit soon...like this week...time just hasn't been my friend lately....
